Welcome to Mamas Growing Together. My name is Lailing Serrano. My friends call me Lali.
I am wife to Adrian, mother to Alexis (angel baby), Lea Marie (3Y) and Lucas Oliver (1Y). I am originally from Mexico. I came to the United States when I was 13 years old along with my siblings. Growing up I always had a feeling that I wanted to have a family of my own.
My favorite things beside my family are anything related to motherhood, and I love listening to podcasts and stories about births. Breastfeeding and mental health are very close to my heart. My faith is a big one, too. I enjoy attending Sunday Mass with my family and a weekday Mass when I get organized enough. I recently joined Crossfit, and it has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. It reminds me of how strong my body is and to also practice being kind to myself when I can’t do certain things. Lastly, hiking has become a favorite in the Serrano home.
Mamas Growing Together began (without me knowing yet) in 2017 about 4 months after Lea’s birth. Since I struggled so much with breastfeeding, I told any mom that I would meet about the things that helped me. It all started at reBlossom, my home away from home. I have met so many amazing people in that small, but oh-so-awesome, center.
As I navigate through this journey of being my true self, I invite you to grow along with me. I’ll be sharing my story through pregnancy, postpartum depression, anxiety, and therapy.
I hope that you find Mamas Growing Together a place to connect with women and find a community of friends that you can call or text when you need to. We all need someone to cheer us on when we may be doubting ourselves, which, if we’re being honest, happens more than we’d like. Mama, you are not alone!
Want to help me empower women with your story? Send me an email! I can’t wait to hear from you!
So much love,
Lali <3
